Contract of Erie 1 BOCES Leader Extended to 2020
Erie 1 BOCES Board of Education approved the contract extension of Lynn Marie Fusco, Ph. D., at a public meeting on July 11. Fusco began as Erie 1 BOCES’ district superintendent and chief executive officer in July 2015. Her contract, originally listed to expire in 2018, was extended to 2020.

“The board unanimously approved the extension because of her outstanding work,” John Sherman, president of Erie 1 BOCES Board of Education. “We’ve seen an increase in activity with component school districts and other organizations. In addition, we are pleased with the progress being made to increase communication between departments.”

During the board’s reorganization meeting, John Sherman of Tonawanda and Janet MacGregor Plarr of Frontier were sworn in as trustees, both are expected to serve three year terms. In April, the pair were reelected to the posts by their respective school districts.

For the 2017-18 school year, the board elected Sherman to continue in the role of board president and Edward Cavan, of Sweet Home, to continue as vice president.
